Privacy policy

Mechanix is a motorcycle workshop in Amsterdam. This website is meant to inform you and to get in touch with us. You can send questions about this policy to info@mechanixamsterdam.nl.

Our website uses no accounts, no advertising cookies and no analytics tools. We do not place tracking cookies ourselves.

If you contact us via WhatsApp, email or phone, we receive the data you send us yourself, such as your name, phone number, email address, your motorcycle's licence plate and your notes.

If you enter a licence plate on the website, it is looked up from your browser in the open data of the Dutch vehicle authority (RDW). We use this to show make, model and year. For an example photo of the model, your browser requests an image from Wikimedia Commons.

These parties receive technical data such as your IP address. We do not store the plate through the website. It only reaches us when you send a request yourself.

On the contact page we show a map from OpenStreetMap. When that map loads, OpenStreetMap receives technical data such as your IP address.

We use your data to answer your question, to arrange an appointment or estimate, to carry out a job and to invoice. The basis is performing an agreement or answering your request, and our legitimate interest in running our business.

We do not keep data longer than needed to handle your question or job. Data we are legally required to keep, such as invoices, is kept for as long as the law requires.

We do not sell your data. If you contact us via WhatsApp, the message goes through WhatsApp (Meta). Email goes through our email provider. Their own privacy terms apply to these services.

You can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your data, and object to its use. Send an email to info@mechanixamsterdam.nl. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

We may change this policy, for example when the website changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
